General Puppy & Adoption Information
Please Read Before Inquiring About A Puppy:
Puppy families are carefully screened. I do not sell to puppy mills, puppy brokers, pet stores, or anyone with the intent of keeping the puppy/dog in a tiny dog lot or tied to a tree. My puppies are only adopted to loving families as cherished family members. If inquiring about one of my puppies, please fill out the Puppy Questionnaire and submit your answers in an email. This is for my reassurance as well as the safety of the puppy. I reserve the right to refuse the sale of a puppy to anyone if I feel it is not in the puppy's best interest.
Prices/Payment
Puppy prices start at $500, and a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a puppy. Accepted forms of payment are cash, personal check, postal money order, and credit cards are accepted through Paypal (+4%).
What's Included
Puppies go home with medical record, signed adoption contract, microchip papers/tags, puppy food sample, a toy, and a blanket with mom's scent on it. If puppy is being picked up in person, AKC and/or APRI papers will be given at the time of adoption. If puppy is being shipped, AKC and/or APRI papers will be sent after the adoption contract is signed and returned.
AKC Registration
All puppies will be placed on limited registration unless full registration has been discussed and approved in advance. A vet reference is required for any puppy being placed on full registration, and there will be a difference in price from puppies being placed on limited registration. I do not revoke limited registration when the puppy reaches breeding age, under any circumstances.
Microchips
All puppies are microchipped with a Home Again microchip. A small registration fee is paid directly to Home Again when the puppy's microchip is activated. Microchips help ensure your puppy's safe return should he or she ever be lost or stolen.
Health Guarantee
All puppies come with a one year health guarantee against genetic disorders only. This guarantee does NOT cover environmental conditions such as intestinal parasites, worms, or fleas.) To validate this guarantee, your puppy must be seen by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of pick up. Please keep all receipts and vet records. We have never had to honor this guarantee, but it is offered for your piece of mind.
Shipping/Delivery
Puppies can fly when they are a minimum of 8 weeks old, weather permitting. I strongly prefer NOT to fly my puppies, but I will in special circumstances. Shipping costs start at $325 and varies based on the weight of the puppy and the size of the crate. The shipping cost includes air fare, a veterinarian-issued health certificate, airline approved travel crate, and compensation for travel time to and from the airport. (Please note that Boxer puppies cannot be shipped if the temperature will be over 70 degrees.)
Ground shipping is available for reasonable rates through professional pet transporters. Please see our 'Recommended Sites' page for links.
Delivery or meeting is also available within reasonable driving distance. Please inquire if you are interested in having your puppy delivered to you. There will be a fee charged for my time and gas
Lifetime Return Policy
I offer lifetime breeder support, and have a lifetime return policy. If, at anytime during the lifetime of the puppy/dog, the adoptive family can no longer care for the puppy/dog, I will always welcome the puppy/dog back into my home, no questions asked, and find him/her a new adoptive family. I do not ever want one of my puppies to end up at a shelter or a rescue.
Spay/Neuter
I offer a $50 refund to all puppy families if their puppy is spayed or neutered by six months of age. This is stated in the adoption contract as well. All I need is a signed letter from the veterinarian that performed the surgery.
References
Most of my puppy families have kept in touch with me and kept me updated on their new family member via email, snail mail, photos, Christmas cards, etc. Pics can be seen on the Past Puppies page. I have puppies as close as 2 miles away, from the coast of North Carolina to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, California, New York, Texas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. I will gladly give references to any potential puppy family upon request.
