About Us....

I have been raising shelties since 2007, and rescuing all kinds of critters since I was a kid, and I hope to continue to do so for many more years.

About Our Dogs.....

All of our dogs are our very special members of our families. I know all of their quirks and personalities, their silly games, etc. For example, Kobe likes to sleep on his doghouse like Snoopy and pester Bingo.  Sheena is just like her mom, Gita (RIP) and is very sweet and passive and will wag her tail even when she's been naughy.  Bingo is small, but the toughest of them all, he's 'top dog'. They are all like my children, they're not just pets, and they aren't 'just for breeding'. They are all indoor-outdoor and have huge yard to play in where they get plenty of exercise. All of our dogs see the vet regularly, they are all up to date on their shots and receive monthly flea and heartworm preventatives.

About Our Mama's.....

Our girls are bred for the first time around 20-22 months of age. They are not bred on their first heat cycle, (usually their 3rd heat cycle) and they are not bred before they are physically and mentally capable of sustaining a pregnancy and caring for the puppies. In addition, our girls are bred only once every 12-18 months, and only if they are in optimal health from head to tail. They are not inbred, and they are not bred back to back, they are given plenty of time to recooperate from pregnancy and birth and rest up after all the puppies have gone home. We breed for quality, not quantity.

About Our Puppies.....

All puppies are born in our home in my bedroom, and I am present for every birth. When the puppies are born, they are suctioned, cleaned, weighed, and then placed back with mom. Dewclaws are removed within 48 hours of birth. Puppies will be dewormed at 2-4-6-8 weeks of age, and first shots are given at 6 weeks. Puppies are started on moistened food at 4 weeks and on totally dry food by 5-6 weeks of age. Puppies are kept with mom and littermates for a minimum of 8 weeks old. The first few weeks in a puppy's life are the most important. A well loved, well socialized, healthy puppy will grow into a happy, healthy, well adjusted dog. Puppies will also be very well socialized with children, other dogs, and cats. I try to have only one litter at a time so each puppy can receive the maximum amount of attention and socialization.
